Bladow ya'll! I'm gonna post up a storm on this here Sugar Gamers blog. :) I'm really glad I found this group, because I've always wanted to have people to play video games with. I've been gaming since I was a little kid and started out playing an NES, but it's pretty much been a solo experience for me. I didn't know very many people that played a lot of games, especially not girls. It didn't really matter to me whether or not I played with a boy or a girl, but older children tend to intermingle less between the genders. Or perhaps I just didn't befriend anyone who also happened to play video games too.
So I was delighted to find a group of girls that actually play and also do other "geeky" stuff and things in male dominated fields. Most of my interests and activities lie in those realms. And while I don't have a problem doing things with men, it is nice to have female support and companionship. It is infinitely beneficial to have other women that are in my position, who can understand my perspective and relate to the trials and triumphs of being a woman venturing outside of mainstream society's designated "feminine" realm.
